Billing itself as the world’s coolest classic car show, the International Concours of Elegance (a.k.a. the I.C.E.) took place this past weekend on February 21st and 22nd 2025. The event was launched in 2022 and has been held annually on the frozen Lake St. Moritz in Switzerland, combining the thrill of motorsports with luxurious après-ski celebrations.

The exclusive event featured 52 of the worlds finest and most expensive automobiles, speeding around the snow covered oval track on the frozen lake. Wealthy gearheads rub elbows with posh fashionistas as skating waiters serve chilled champagne at the piano bar.

The curated collection of classics cars and retired racers belongs in a museum. And considering some of the rare models are valued at over $40,000,000 it’s shocking the owners drive them at all! This year, a crowd of 20,000 spectators showed up to watch cars such as the 1934 Bugatti Type 59 and 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB strap on some tire chains and blast around the snowy circuit.

Friday was roll-in day, as millions of dollars worth of exotic cars drove through the streets of St. Moritz. Even spectators arrived in expensive vehicles like the Pagani Utopia and Koenigsegg Jesko! But Saturday was the highlight of the weekend, as onlookers caught a rare public sight of exceptional vehicles at speed on the ice, with the Swiss Alps in the background.
During the recent Snowmageddon and Snowpocalypse in Toronto, some people wouldn’t even drive their AWD Subaru daily-drivers in the snow. But over in Switzerland, even multi-million dollar vehicles make ideal winter-beaters for the blue blood crowd..
Omg that’s so cool!! Who knew?!
Girl, I watched one video of cars arriving at The ICE and some rich old white guy was street driving a $40 Mil Ferrari to the show. Slip sliding all over the road on 50 year old summer tires.
.
What a great even to see museum pieces being driven, hard.
Wild times in the snow. The $40M Ferrari guy didn’t want to be left inside in the heat.
I guess it’s the one time a year he takes the car out. Or he just bought it at auction and is excited to drive it. I know I would be!
.
Plus, if you own a chalet in Switzerland, and you don’t drive your classic car on the ice, people will think you have become destitute.
Wow! What an amazing collection of classic cars.
I like that the owners are all independent collectors, and that the event hasn’t been taken over by car companies. I mean, heck, Mercedes or Ferrari could easily bring a classic from their museum. But the notion that some rich old dude from France brought his pre-WWII Bugatti race car to the event is… special.
.
It’s kind of funny that one car company (Koenigsegg) tried to get attention by sending a fleet of 3 matching supercars to the event, with bright orange ski boxes on their roofs. So thirsty!
