The third and final trailer for ‘F1: The Movie‘ is out, and this one has plenty of shirtless Brad Pitt, for anyone into that sort of thing. Racing is a male-chauvinist, sexist activity, and best guess is that most motorsports fans are men. But buff Brad will cross boundaries, bringing in female movie viewers who couldn’t care less about a bunch of guys driving around in circles going nowhere.

Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was F1’s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) owner of a struggling F1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to F1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world, alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) the team’s hotshot rookie.
A sure-bet summer blockbuster from the guys the brought you ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, score by composer Hans Zimmer. The only bad thing about this movie is the involvement of real-life F1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Just ignore that part, and make it to an IMAX theatre on Friday June 27 for the international release.
Well, how about that. Not that I would be drawn in by Mr dreamy. He is in pretty good shape for an old guy.
There’s a scene in the ‘trailer’ where Brad Pitt’s much younger teammate Damson Idris and his mommy are at the F1 team HQ. There’s a larger-than-life poster of the two team drivers in the lobby.

The middle-aged Jamaican mom looks at the poster of Big Brad and says…
.
“That’s the other driver?
You say he was old? He not that old.
That’s a HANDSOME man right there.”
.
…much to the horror of her young racecar-driving son. Seems like all the ladies like Brad Pitt.
Looks like the perfect movie for you.
That’s what I’ve been thinking too! And now that they put all those sexy pics of buff Brad in this new trailer, I bet I could even get my wife to come to the movies with me.

I’ll bet you are right.
If the weather is good that day, I’d like to watch F1 at the drive in on the edge of town. But since they went to the trouble to film it in IMAX maybe a regular theatre would be better.
I should probably see it twice on the opening weekend. I’ll check the male/female ratio,
Sound like a good plan.
