The Italian motoring press broke the story last night, but by morning, even local stations in Canada were reporting that the enemy has joined the good guys. Lewis Hamilton is set to leave Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and join the Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.
For those of us at Demaras Racing, Hamilton has always been the bad guy. They racer we rooted against. He jumped right into a championship-caliber McLaren in 2007. Never had to pay his dues with small teams. When a bunch of F1 cars spun out at the European GP, only Hamilton’s car got lifted out on a crane and returned to the race. He cheated Kimi out of a victory at Spa-Francorchamps in ’08. The examples are endless.

Lewis Hamilton has always been the villain to Ferraris heroes, and the notion that he will wear red in 2025…it’s just too much to bear.
And the worst part is that Ferrari is pushing out Carlos Sainz Jr to make room for old man Hamilton. The No.55 was the only car to win a Grand Prix in 2023 that wasn’t a Red Bull. And Sainz’s pole at Monza immortalized him with the Tifosi worldwide.

This is a sad, sad day in motorsports history.
I’m sorry to hear this. It is hard to imagine the bad guy joining the good guys and becoming a good guy esp with the history.
No! He will never be a good guy.
.
Lewis Hamilton may be the most successful driver in F1 history, with more wins than anyone rlse, and he’s a national tteasure in the UK…but iat MY HOUSE he will forever be the bad guy.
.
Except for the fact that he’s the only black driver in 50+ years of Formula 1 history (making him the Jackie Robinson of racing) and he’s also the winningest driver of all time with many philanthropic endeavours. Except for all that really good stuff… he’ll always be the bad guy to me.
