The old-timer with his yard sale sign seemed out of place at the race track. A closer look at his folding tables displayed decades worth of racing memorabilia, many of the items from events that took place right there at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park when it’s name was still Mosport.




The strangest item on display was a box of International Speedway Soap. This odd item was made in Montreal by a long lost company called ‘Studio Girl’ and were most definitely promotional items sold at the inaugural Formula 1 Grand Prix of Canada, held at Mosport in 1967.

Inside the weathered box were two bars of soap, a little over 2 oz. each, that still smelled fresh and clean. Molded to look like an old Indy Car or ’60s Formula 1 racer, the old timer said they would be the perfect gift for Mother’s Day.
Seems perfect for when you need a fast F1-style speed cleaning.
I found one of these on eBay (just checking price) and the advert read:
