Somewhere in Toronto is a hero. An outlaw who’s made it his personal mission to rid the city of their unethical speed cameras. His target is the Parkside Dr speed camera which has now been chopped down for the 6th time since last November.

Ironically, Toronto Police installed a security camera to keep watch over the speed camera only one week ago. That’s how valuable the camera is… and it has nothing to do with safety.

The infamous Parkside Dr speed camera is a symbol of everything wrong with modern society. The dehumanizing device has issued over 68,000 tickets and brought in over $7,000,000 for the city government. The city has no intention of enhancing safety by changing the design of the arrow-straight road by using speed-calming measures. It’s too good a cash cow.

Keep up the good work, Toronto Man!

      1. It’s possible. Maybe its actually Ontario premier Doug Ford messing with the mayor by chopping down her speed cameras. That’s more likely.

      2. Idk if I can envision him quickly climbing up ladders or whatever to cut them down though 😂

    1. The news sometimes refers to a crazy guy called Florida Man. You know the one… has an illegal alligator petting zoo at his house… tries to shoot down a hurricane with a shotgun.
      .
Toronto Man is a little different. He’s low-key. Flies under the radar to rid society of speed cameras.

      1. Florida Man is definitely NOT low-key. But may have been on to something with the shotgun and hurricanes. He just needed to scale it up. A lot.

      2. Whenever I’m looking for absurd ideas, I can always rely on Florida Man to deliver.

I love you, Florida Man. But only in a best friend sort of way. We’re DEFINITELY not family!

    1. Oh Sara, it’s in the millions. One camera has generated millions. And for a fraction of that amount, the city could have put in chicanes, speed bumps, bike lanes, etc. to slow down traffic. City Hall just doesn’t want to.

  1. Big time. I just feel sad that the city uses the memory of a poor elderly couple killed by a speeder as justification for these silly speed camera cash grabs. Just change the road (chicanes, speed bumps, etc.) to protect residents or the cameras will keep getting chopped down.
