The 75 Express Mercedes-AMG hasn’t taken the checkered flag at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the past five years, but lucky charm Will Power helped the team achieve 2nd place in their division this weekend. Running in the GTD Pro the team featured Australians Will Power, Chaz Mostert, team boss Kenny Habul, and delightful German Maro Engel who wore a patriotic race suit to honour the team.

Despite being a 2-time IndyCar champ, 45-year-old Will Power is a rookie at Daytona, never even seeing the track before a week ago. Yet the put in impressive lap times before handing the car over to teammates.
Maro Engel even had the lead with 90 minutes to go in the race, but during a pit-stop, was undercut by the Paul Miller Racing BMW M6 that went on to win by a mere 2.222 seconds. In post race interviews on IMSA’.tv ‘s YouTube channel, Power just couldn’t believe they lost by two seconds after 24 hours of racing. Makes one think he will return in 2027.

The overall win in GTP Prototype division went to a Penske, Power’s old team.
