Formula 1 drivers and BFF’s forever Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz used to be teammates at McLaren, where the brotherly couple became known as CARLANDO and won the hearts of racing fans everywhere. Even though they now race for rival teams, these two guys are still as close as friends can be on the racetrack.

The pair recently got together to test go-karts from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 2000s, and today in a back-to-back runs. These were some of the most competitive racing karts of their day, and the modern day machines were represented by Carlos’ CS55 brand and Lando’s LN Racing Kart which was very cool.

The racing karts look dramatically different from decade to decade, as technology changed. But how much (or little) this translated into outright speed or reduced lap-times is another matter. And for the record, that red machine to Lando’s left isn’t a go-kart. It’s a 1920 Briggs & Stratton Flyer commonly called a Red Bug, a kind of mini-0car of the era. But it certainly looks the part of a kart.
