On Monday night in Toronto, a black Mustang ignored public safety and did doughnuts in the middle of Yonge and Dundas. The driver’s friends rushed into the intersection to record the stunt up close (because if it isn’t on social media, it doesn’t count).
Shockingly, when police approached with sirens on, the driver took off at high speeds. According to non-profit organization FairWarning nearly 20% of police chase-related deaths are bystanders. As danger increased, Toronto Police called off the pursuit in the interests of public safety.

The 21 year-old driver was arrested on Wednesday and charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance, mischief, endangering life, flight while pursued by a peace officer, stunt driving, and careless driving.
