Dave’s Garage in Burlington feels like a car club. Between the die cast models and the trophies on the shelf, this place is all about Miata’s, especially those used in competition. Enthusiasts stroll through the front door. Some with questions, other to pick up their go-fast parts.

Out in the parking lot, a random gearhead neighbor drops by with his 1961 Plymouth Valiant. For a 60+ year old car, it looks incredible. Everyone stops to take a look under the hood. Dave invites him to a Miata BBQ in a couple weeks.

But that’s not why we’re here today.
We’re here to pick up a modified 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata. This is now the official Demaras Racing track toy. Complete with Hard Dog roll bar, coilovers and Hankook RS4 tires, this Japanese roadster is ready for to race.

Bill, the patriarch of the Demaras family, helped transport the car back from Burlington. He approves of the British Racing Green exterior and double-double coffee coloured interior. Bill even reminisced that the Miata reminded him of the Jaguar roadster he had as a young man, back in the old country.
