It’s good to have people like John at Auto-Links in your life. Whether you’re asking him to tint a 30-year-old Subaru, or replace the factory radio in a 20-year-old Subaru, he’s your guy. This time, we asked him to use his skills to stick the number plate on the fender of the Mazda Miata in anticipation of this weekend’s Push It To The Limit autocross event.

The shop is familiar with CASC and SCCA rules, and knew just where to install the No. 16 / A-MOD number plate, leaving plenty of room for sponsor decals as time goes along.

After a bit of brain-storming, the Demaras Racing crew got to work applying all kinds of decals from the F1200 season (including series sponsors Brack Driving Concepts). Even decals representing Chris’ RaceQuip suit and Daniel’s OMP gloves made it on the rear window.

Does it really matter that none of this is necessary for an autocross event which doesn’t even require a CASC Racing License? No. It’s the same logic as ‘dress for the job you want’. This car wants to be a real race car, so let’s make it look like one.
