The RALLY AGAINST HUNGER is such a simple idea. The racing season is over, and gearheads across Southern Ontario are looking for competition. Whether they normally race on the short-oval, road course, or karting track, invite everyone out to an indoor karting facility for a charity race.

And thanks to our partners Crazy Leo at Race Lab and Duane at Can-Jam Motorsports, there’s even some incredible prizes up for grabs.

It’ll be interesting to see if competitor Ben McPherson from the bone-stocks at Sunset can return to his winning ways in karts, or whether K1 Speed champ Nathan Wilkie will take another Demaras Racing charity event win. But really…the race itself is secondary.

The real competition is qualifying.

Starting positions in the preliminary races of the Rally Against Hunger are determined by how much food a competitor donated. Since the whole event is a food drive for the Daily Bread Food Bank, the real challenge was to get people to be generous during difficult times.

There’s a guy from up at Sunset Speedway named Graydon Bunn, who co-hosts the Stickers N’ Scuffs Podcast who really gets this event. He started a local food drive to support the Rally Against Hunger. He’s collected donations from friends, family, co-workers and podcast listeners.

Within a week, Team Graydon hit 100 lbs. in donations, and there’s just no stopping a dedicated individual with a mission. The funny thing is…we’ve never met him. Graydon is just one of those genuinely good people that see an opportunity to help and ran with it.

Really looking forward to seeing him on Sunday…hopefully starting from pole position.
