Back in the 90s, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was a successful Formula 1 driver, but had to end his professional career after an accident. But when the team principal of APX-GP (Javier Bardem) lulls him out of retirement to mentor struggling but promising rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). The team wants to milk every last drop of racing Hayes has in him, and for Hayes its a last chance to stay in the show.

So far, that’s all we know about F1: The Motion Picture although Brad Pitt and his team were at Silverstone this weekend filming scenes during the British Grand Prix. The production company also released a trailer…which looks amazing!

  1. I believe Formula One deserves a decent, big production movie. No doubt Brad Pitt will attract a lot of “non F-One related” fans to the theaters, and it will likely increase the interest in the sport.

    1. I lived in Toronto in 2000 when they were filming Stallone’s “DRIVEN” at the Molson Indy. That movie was supposed to be incredible. Big movie star, filmed during an actual race weekend, cutting-edge CGI.

I have been very worried this Brad Pitt movie will have the same fate as DRIVEN.

But after this trailer, I can see I was wrong. This looks amazing. Totally realistic looking, and bound for huge success, even though it seems to have the same plot as DRIVEN.
